Since 1973, ROCK SCENE has been a time capsule of rock & roll history, celebrating the musicians, writers, editors, photographers, fans and countless others who helped create the magazine and the culture surrounding it.

When the first issue hit the streets in March 1973 with David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust on the cover, rock & roll culture was exploding. ROCK SCENE wasn’t just another music magazine. It took you backstage, into the clubs, onto the streets and inside the lives of the artists who were creating a new generation of music.

Now, more than 50 years later, the story continues with ROCK SCENE RELOADED, bringing the spirit of the original magazine into a new era. It celebrates the legends who created rock history while documenting the artists, concerts, stories and personalities who are keeping that spirit alive today. It’s where the past and present come together, introducing a whole new generation to what made ROCK SCENE so special in the first place.

ROCK SCENE inspired, excited and mesmerized me as a kid growing up by the Jersey Shore, and that same spirit lives on today with ROCK SCENE RELOADED. The music, the photographs, the stories and the spirit are timeless, and we’re keeping it all alive for generations to come.

Over 150 INTERVIEWS!

More than 15 years ago, I started sitting down with artists and asking them to tell me about their own rock scene — the music they grew up with, the bands that influenced them, the clubs they played, the people they met and the moments that shaped their careers.

Over the years, that project has grown into more than 150 interviews, preserving these stories in the artists’ own words. Many of those interviews are available now through the ROCK SCENE Magazine YouTube channel with over 4 million views.

Those conversations are an important part of what ROCK SCENE RELOADED is all about — not only looking back at rock history, but hearing it directly from the people who lived it. Mark Weiss (editor in chief /ROCKSCENE RELOADED)
