Ricky Nelson performs “Garden Party” a song written about his experience at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival Concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 15, 1971. The song lyrics include references to many of the artists and the songs that were performed at the concert. Some of the artists referenced include Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Yoko and John Lennon, George Harrison, and many more. Ricky performed at the concert and was booed during his cover of the Rolling Stone’s “Country Honk.” “Garden Party” reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the fall of 1972.
